BIO
Carla J. Clay is a contemporary figurative painter and ceramicist who lives and works in Austin, Texas. Despite her background in computer engineering and science, her first love has always been art. A native of El Paso, Texas she reinterprets native and symbolic elements that inspire her. Clay's artwork has been shown in exhibitions in Texas and the U.S., including The People's Gallery in Austin, Texas. One of her paintings was the winning painting for the 2017 Georgetown Red Poppy Festival. Her influences broadly extend and include Native American symbolism and modern art.
